A Murderer Amongst Friends'
If you know how to read a light meter, then you pass the first test of this position. That is what lighting technician's do - read light meter and fix lights into a position.
Seriously, having a good Lighting Technician is extremely important. In this film the lighting technician will probably be filling two roles, 'director of photography' and 'lighting guy'. This means that the director will likely ask for a look or specification and you'll have to figure out a way to make it work for the camera.
This film starts off in daylight and ends in evening. However, in order to keep the shooting schedule short it will be shot out of sequence. One room of the house (or outside) at a time, per shooting day. The continuity between lighting will be very important since many of these shots, shot on separate days, will have to match as if they were all done in one take. Some color matches can be faked in the editing room but it will be far better to handle them in the field.
On top of that... we're hoping to give this film a real creepy look. What's "creepy"? That's open for debate, and probably going to be largely influenced by the Lighting Technician / Coordinator / DP.

There is no pay for any BTTH position. Contracts will be drawn that determine the percentage of net profits. Any expense you incur during the filming is your own. If you wish to invest in the film in any form; separate arrangements will be made.
