THICK is a progressive alternative group that has performed in the Seattle area clubs (such as the Colourbox, China Club, Ballard Firehouse, etc.) since the beginning of 1996. The group’s intense style of music mixes explosive dynamics with softer definitive forms but continues to deliver in-your-face lyrics that is THICK’s trademark style.

The group’s concept originated in 1995 with Warren Michaels and ‘Marc’. Marc had been involved with a few other groups in New York and Los Angeles before heading to Seattle to form an all-originals group now known as THICK. Marc’s singing style ranges from a low smooth voice to an angry growl with lyrics that are written from the heart.

A native to the Pacific Northwest, Warren Michaels has been with several groups in Western Washington and Oregon before joining THICK as drummer and background vocalist. His hard-hitting style is a combination reticent of the styles of Bonham, Peart, and Rich.

Tim Jennings joined the group the beginning of 1996 after playing in a group in Korea. Tim adds a depth that is intensely intricate and melodic and adds to the already aggressive nature of the rhythm section. His style could be compared to that of Geddy Lee.

Michael Lee has been in several bands throughout the Western and Mid-Western parts of the US before joining THICK. A driving, yet intricate, playing style that fills the holes other guitarists have yet to discover round out the full, rich, dark, and moody nature that THICK claims to be their domain.
